Shasha Market Crisis: Northern Governors Visit Makinde


Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State yesterday hosted Governors from four Northern states, over the recent crisis between Yoruba and Hausa traders at Shasha market in Ibadan.

The visiting governors were, Alhaji Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi State; Gov Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state; Gov Abubakar Bello of Niger and Gov. Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state.

The governors’ arrived at the Oyo State Government House, Agodi, Ibadan, at exactly 7.pm and went into a closed-door meeting with Makinde.

Governor Seyi Makinde after the meeting said they discussed the strategies his administration is channeling towards restoring peace in the state.

‘’This evening, we welcomed Governors, @GovUmarGanduje @Bellomatawalle1 Abubakar Bagudu and @abusbello who paid us a solidarity visit. We discussed the strategies our administration is putting in place to maintain peaceful co-existence of all residents of Oyo State’’- He Tweeted

Seyi Makinde had earlier met and visited the scene of the clash on Sunday with his counterpart from Ondo State Govenor Rotimi Akeredolu.
