Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state and Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state on Sunday visited Shasha market, the scene of the clash between Hausas and Yorubas on Friday.
In his visit to the market, Seyi Makinde called for peace and promised to investigate the cause of the conflict which was infuriated at Shasha market in Akinyele Local Government Area of Ibadan.
They were accompanied by the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Ngozi Onadeko, and Special Adviser on Security to Oyo State Governor, Fatai Owoseni, and other state officials.
The governor of the state and the visiting governor made an assessment visit to the Shasha market and lamented on the level of the destruction the clash has caused.
On his round tour, he sympathized with the families of those who lost loved ones and assured them that he would ensure that justice is served and the perpetrators of the violence are arrested and prosecuted. He also appealed to all parties to allow peace to reign.
