Oba (Dr) Abd-Ganiy Salawudeen Adekunle Oloogunebi (Ajinese 1) Aseyin of Iseyin
The campus of the College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, which will soon become a conventional University will be sited along Ipokun, Atoori road on the Iseyin-Ogbomoso in Iseyin.
The Chronicler Newspaper’s investigation revealed that Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has contacted the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Dr. Abd-Ganiy Salawudeen Adekunle Oloogunebi (Ajinese 1) to get a certain number of hectares of land along the said road.
A palace source confided in our reporter that the monarch assured the governor that the land would be available for the project.
Indigenes of Iseyin who spoke with The Chronicler Newspaper said they were happy because the university campus project would drive speedy work on the road construction.
Governor Makinde had earlier on Saturday, on a syndicated media chat on the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) said work would soon begin on the road as survey works have been completed to signal readiness of the contractor to move to site.
“On LAUTECH multi-campus, we have asked NUC to convert LAUTECH to conventional university. I promised that I will give Iseyin a higher institution. The College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences will be situated there. We will fix the Iseyin-Ogbomoso road so that the link is easy.
“LAUTECH is meant to be a citadel of learning. Now that the ownership is resolved, we can focus on making it one so it can also contribute to the economy. We have achieved what could not be achieved by previous admins from the same party,” he boasted.
