Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC),Professor Adeolu Akande has expressed sadness over the death of a topmost monarch in Yorubaland, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi 111, the Alaafin of Oyo,
Professor Akande in a statement personally signed by him said the entire Yorubaland will no doubt miss the contributions of Oba Adeyemi as a custodian of Yoruba culture and traditions.
“It is with great sorrow that I write this tribute about Baba Alaafin. His death is a personal loss to me. He had been a pillar of support since I have known him decades ago.
It is difficult to discuss Oba Adeyemi in a statement. He was so many things to many people. He was deep, bold, cerebral and above all, royale.
My heartfelt sympathy goes to the Oyo mesi and the entire sons and daughters of Oyo,the Yoruba race and the Alowolodu ruling house in particular on the exit of Kabiyesi.
I pray Allah rest baba’s soul in this holy month of Ramadan. Good night, great monarch, Atanda Alowolodu”,Professor Akande submitted.
