Oyo governor, Mr Seyi Makinde has said Oyo state-owned commuter buses, known as Pacesetter buses, will soon begin to provide world-class transport service in the state.
Makinde made the announcement on Thursday, while inspecting the buses at the Pacesetter Transport Service office in Eleyele, Ibadan.
He said his government wanted to ensure that the Pacesetter buses remained at the forefront of the transportation system in the state.
“We want the Pacesetter service to be at the forefront of our transportation system in Oyo State.
“Ibadan, in particular, is a nodal city, it came to be because people that travel to different locations pass through Ibadan.
“So, I look forward to a modern transportation system in Oyo State, which is driven and led by Pacesetter Transport Company,” he said.
The Pacesetter Transport Company’s board members, led by its chairman, Mr Dare Adeleke, received the governor at the company office, during the inspection tour.
The governor was also joined on the inspection tour by the Vice Chairman of the Company, Mr Oladosu Ademola and the General Manager, Mr Akinleye Akinwole
